On October 9, 2023, the Register of Beneficial Owners has become operational.
With Decree of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy of 29 September 2023, published in the Official Journal of Italy (“Gazzetta Ufficiale”) No. 236/2023, a system that has already been in effect in the main European countries has now become fully operational in Italy as well.
Consequently, from the date of publication and within a period of 60 days (that is, until December 11, 2023), all companies, legal entities and trusts must notify their beneficial owners to the new register established at the Chambers of Commerce following a specific online procedure.
