He joined Zambelli Tassetto from the London office of Hogan Lovells, where he was a Senior Associate in the International Capital Markets department. Prior to that, he worked in the Finance team at BonelliErede (London), in the Banking and Finance department at Matheson (Dublin), and within the legal departments of BNP Paribas in London.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
Matteo focuses on corporate law and commercial transactions, with particular expertise in banking and finance, real estate, inbound investment, art and antiquities, competition and regulatory matters, arbitration and cross-border disputes. Alongside his transactional work, he has substantial experience in civil litigation\u2014especially commercial and finance dispute resolution\u2014and in public law proceedings, including administrative, tax and antitrust litigation.<\/p>\n
He holds an LL.B in Law, an LL.M in International Finance from University College London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law (now The University of Law, London), and a PhD in Law from Trinity College Dublin (University of Dublin).<\/p>\n
Matteo has contributed to a number of books, law reviews and industry journals, and is a regular speaker at academic and practitioner conferences, symposia, workshops and specialist courses. He is an Associate Professor at the University of West London, where he teaches on the LLM programme, including modules on Legal Aspects of International Finance, International Arbitration, International Commercial Litigation, and International Commercial and Shipping Law. He has also taught Company Law, EU Law and European Competition Law, and has been a Visiting Professor on the Art and Commerce course at Wake Forest University School of Law. His publications cover finance, banking law and regulation, art law, public and administrative law, international arbitration and cross-border litigation.<\/p>\n
Trained in both common law and civil law traditions, Matteo is admitted to the Venice roll of attorneys with Supreme Court rights of audience, and is also qualified to practise in New York, Ireland, and England and Wales. He is a Fellow (F.CIArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London Branch). In addition to his professional and academic commitments, he has served as a non-executive director.<\/p>\n
